Path finding

It's quite nice when a bit of new code actually works as you intended. I recently added a path finding algorithm so one of the creatures can move about intelligently. The image here is a simple case. Going between the two spaces shaded white, the system finds all possible shortest paths and chooses one at random. The chosen path is highlighted in yellow.

Memory woes

I have only tested the game with one other person so far. That is, frankly, absurd and inexcusable given how far into development the game is. Definitely something to fix for game #2. Regardless, that one play session brought out a key deficiency of the game at the time: stability. It crashed twice in the middle of a game. Once was a real bug that I quickly worked around. The other was a general out-of-memory warning from the OS that caused program termination.

Game progress

I have been very hesitant to give out images of the game in progress because, frankly, it doesn't look very good at the moment. Everything is programmer art and needs a thorough rejiggering by a skilled hand. Tightening up the graphics as it were. Being secretive won't work over the long term, though, and I think it best to be more open throughout the development process.
